WILTSHIRE were set an imposing first-innings target in their final Minor Counties Championship Western Division clash of the season against Herefordshire after day one of three in Brockhampton yesterday.

The visitors, who drew their previous match against Wales, saw the home side reach 397 all out three balls shy of the full 90 overs.

Herefordshire's total was built around a 130-run fifth-wicket stand between skipper David Exall (83) and D Box (80*).

Openers B Stebbings 42  and N Patel (53) and number three B Wadlan (61) also made big totals, while Tahir Afridi took 5-108.

Replying, Wiltshire had reached 54-2 at the close, losing opener Toby Davies and Tom Morton cheaply.
