THE T20 78-run defeat to Devon was disappointing, but we had a couple of issues with availability and the captain, Mike Coles, dropped out the night before and that didn’t help.

Mike is a very influential player in T20 and without him we looked a lot weaker.

However we had a decent side there but we bowled the wrong lengths and we didn’t field very well.

We lost wickets early on in the chase and when you are chasing a big total it is tough to recover from.

We have got a decent 20 over side, it is pretty similar to the 50 over side, and it is one that is aggressive and quite attacking however it probably just wasn’t to be.

Devon are a tough side, whatever format you play them in, they have got a decent all round side and it was a tough draw for us on their own soil.

Looking forward we start the three-day format this weekend against Dorset, it is a format we did well in last year, winning the Western Division.

However I am absolutely littered with unavailability at the moment, it’s a nightmare.

In all games we have had injuries and we have had unavailabilities.

That is the story with three-day cricket, it’s getting that commitment to play and at the moment we are struggling.

We’ve got a couple of players who aren’t available until July and we have got to cope with that.

We coped with it last year and hopefully we can get off on the right foot.

Again it’s a difficult game down to Dorset, who want to prove a point to us because we have had the lion’s share of the results over them over the last couple of years.

I am sure they will be eager to prove a point on a wicket at Dean Park which has seen some low scores and some results over the last 18 months.

We’re not sure what to expect there.

The reports are that the wicket is not great and that it is turning a long way and we’re going in with two decent spinners who performed really well for us in the three-day games last year and we are hoping that they will come into their own in this game.
