CORSHAM surrendered top spot in the table after they were handed a 101-run humbling when they played host to Frocester.

Despite the heavy defeat, Ashur Morrison’s men are still handily placed and are just one point adrift of new league leaders Bridgwater.

Visitors Frocester won the toss and elected to bat, with 61 from number three Jawid Khan providing the backbone of their 247 all out.

Tom Wand also made 42, while Joseph King led the charge with the ball to take 3-49, including one off the final ball of the innings.

There were also two wickets each for James Arney and captain Morrison.

Corsham knew they would be up against it in their run chase but they never got going and only Michael Coles (32) came off with any credit as they were dismissed for 146.

Opener Dwain Fielding (21) was the only other man to pass 20 as plenty of home batsmen made starts.

Ross Martin (4-29) and Richard Cave (3-45) were the chief destroyers as Frocester wrapped up the win in the 34th over.
