ROYAL Wootton Bassett clocked up their seventh victory in eight Division One matches as their bowlers destroyed Bradford on Avon.

Put into bat Bradford were soon up against it as Neilon Joseph claimed 3-45 for the home side.

Ian Pinchin scored 29 for the visitors, but Asanka Vithanage (4-12) Ellis (2-17) and Asanka Vithanage (4-12) destroyed them for just 87.

Bassett’s run chase was largely untroubled, Jack Twine’s unbeaten 35 and 33 from skipper Darren Beasant seeing them home for the loss of two wickets.

Jon Clarke’s superb unbeaten 125 earned Nationwide House their second victory of the campaign - a seven-wicket success over Beckington.

Beckington were all out for 222, Joe Perkins taking 4-58 in 12 overs.

House got home inside 37 overs, as Clarke’s knock teed up victory.

The chase is on behind Bassett, with Urchfont in second spot following their eight-wicket triumph over Box.

Box were all out for 122, Toby Dorgan taking 4-13.

An innings of 64 not out from David Bromley got Urchfont to their target in the 19th over.

Nigel Curtis scored an unbeaten 88 for Lacock as they clinched a 38-run success over Hinton Charterhouse.

Lacock reached 201-8 in their 45 overs, and despite 64 not out from Hinton’s Liam Reithofer-Taylor, they fell short at 163 all out.

Division 2

SWINDON United Churches were deposed at the top after a five-wicket defeat to Swindon A.

Batting first in overcast conditions, Churches collapsed to 30-4 but recovered to post 208 all out in 44.3 overs.

Opening batsman Jimmy Mann was the star of the show yet again as he carried his bat for a magnificent 124 not out.

Contributions from Mann’s teammates were few and far between but a gutsy 25 from number 11 Dean Tomlin enabled Churches to post a last-wicket partnership of 68.

Jack Harris claimed figures of 4-51 for the hosts and he received good support from the slow bowling of Randy Roze (2-14).

Richard Martin and Danny Hunt (2-36) bowled well for Churches in reply as wicketkeeper Martin Garstang snaffled two chances behind the stumps to remove both Swindon openers.

Leg-spinner Ravi Dhayalan claimed a single wicket and a run-out off his own bowling to keep Churches in the game, but aggressive batting from Lee Baden (85 not out) and Harris (33) secured the victory for the home side in just 35.3 overs.

Wes Hartslief scored 54 and took 3-21 as Avebury wrapped up a 128-run triumph over Collingbourne, Greg Dix added an unbeaten 54 in Avebury’s 180-7 before Hartslief and Dominic Fry ripped through Collingbourne, dismissing them for just 52 as Fry took 7-31.

Mark McMeeking’s 4-67 helped Wroughton Wranglers dismiss Swindon NALGO for 187 before he added an unbeaten 50 in a seven-wicket triumph, skipper Alex Williams hitting an unbeaten 88.

Heytesbury & Sutton Veny earned a two-run win over Spye Park, despite being dismissed for just 95.

Rob Barnes (5-9) and Olly Hares (3-23) came to the rescue as Park were out for 93.

Division 3

BEEHIVE stayed top of the pile as they defeated Wilcot, posting 209 all out as Mike Spong scored 52 and Chris Warren 47.

The bowlers wrapped up victory for the leaders, as Wilcot subsided to 124 all out, Gary Collins finishing with figures of 3-22 and Pete Andrews claimed four wickets.

Garreth Robb’s half century and an unbeaten 35 from Hugo Saye helped to guide All Cannings (195-8) to a narrow two-wicket victory over Wootton Bassett 2nd.

Saye had earlier taken 4-37 as Bassett were all out for 193, Harry Easton also taking 3-56. Scott Twine scored 76 for Bassett and Lewis Tyrie 43.

Allan Norman hit 85 and Adam Lawrence 49 of Seagry’s 233 all out against Potterne 3rd, who came up 24 runs short in the run chase as Norman took 5-33.

Division 5

ROB Robson’s 6-45 could not prevent Heytesbury & Sutton Veny 2nd slipping to a three wicket loss to their Bradford on Avon counterparts.

Tony Laws’ unbeaten 55 got Bradford to 124-7, after Dan Tadman had taken 6-17 to dismiss Heytesbury for 123.

Rob Shillaker smashed 142 and Luke Draper 40 as Corsham 4th amassed 261-5 against Cherhill, whose pursuit ended at 115 as 12 year old Josh Stanley and Jack Humphreys, aged 13, took 3-11 and 3-31 apiece.

Division 6

LACOCK 2nd’s six-wicket triumph over Potterne 4th was set up by the bowlers as Anthony Edwards (4-28), Matt Lever (3-31) and James Harding (3-37) dismissed Potterne for 142.

Matt Loft’s unbeaten 82 and 35 from Tim Culling got Lacock home.

Division 7

A LOW-SCORING game saw Burbage & Easton Royal 4th edged Bathford 2nd by two wickets.

Simon Neale (5-32), Finn Tuttle (3-38) and Will Harris (2-3) had Bathford reeling at 116 all out, but it needed knocks of 29 from Charlie Forster and Pete Amor (21) to get Burbage over the line.

Skipper Allan Webb hit an unbeaten 107 in Goatacre 4th’s 230 all out against Westbury 3rd, for whom James Dark took 3-17.

Luke Delina hit 57 and Paul Gainey 45 for Westbury, who came up short on 167 all out as Barry Garland took 3-31.

A knock of 131 from M Trezeciak helped Winsley 3rd (211 all out) to a 65-run win over Chippenham 4th.
