WILTSHIRE survived by the skin of their teeth to earn a Unicorns Championship Western Division draw against Cornwall yesterday.

The match rested on the final ball, with Wiltshire 14 short of victory and down to their final pair in the middle but Cornwall failed with an appeal for a slip catch against Ashur Morrison and also a run out as the visitors earned a share of the spoils.

A late start due to the weather saw the home side resume at 209-4, but they were bowled out prior to lunch for 303, Potterne seamer Jake Roberts taking 5-85.

Set 352 to win in two sessions, Wiltshire lost Uzi Qureshi and Luke De Souza cheaply before Ed Young and Ed Kilbee (76) put on 124.

Skipper Mike Coles joined Young and added 68, Young going on to complete his century as Wiltshire gave themselves the chance of victory.

Led by the bowling of Brad Wadlan (5-127), Cornwall got themselves back into it despite Ashur Morrison's unbeaten 85 as wickets fell.
