WILTSHIRE'S hopes of a first Unicorns Championship Western Division win of the season hung in the balance after an eventful day two against Devon at Sandford yesterday.

The visitors were 40-3 in their second innings, needing another 262 on the final day of three today to wrap up victory.

Resuming at 105-5 yesterday, having bowled out their hosts for 251 in their first innings, Wiltshire were dismissed for 163 as Matt Golding and Jamie Stephens took four wickets apiece for Devon.

Leading by 89 going into their second innings, Devon were dismissed for 213 in under four hours, Zac Bess top scoring with 41 as Jake Lintott took 6-81 and Joe King adding to his first-innings fifer with 3-71.

Pursuing their target, Wiltshire lost openers Luke De Souza and Patrick Greishaber for 17 and 11 respectively to Golding, while nightwatchman King was also dismissed without score to leave the match finely poised.
