FIFTEEN year old Henry Cox was the star of the show as Urchfont maintained their push for honours at the top of Division One on Saturday.

Cox, who only recently joined the club, claimed six Hinton Charterhouse wickets for 18 runs from just 27 deliveries to help dismiss the villagers’ opponents for 177 in 41.3 overs of their meeting.

A half-century from skipper David Bromley and 40 from another teenager, 17-year-old Matt Wood, then took Urchfont to a four-wicket success in the 38th over.

Royal Wootton Bassett remained on top as Neilon Joseph teed up a five-wicket win over Swindon 2nd.

Joseph took 4-20 in nine overs as Swindon were sent packing for 106 in 30 overs.

A destructive 32 - all scored in boundaries - from Akash Sharma got Bassett home in 25 overs.

Division Two

Swindon United Churches fell to a narrow two wicket defeat at home to second placed Warminster 2nd.

Churches batted first after winning the toss, but lost opener Jimmy Mann early after he was trapped leg before by Akash Saraswat for six.

The Churches middle order batsmen managed to get starts with Liam Brooks (23) and Matthew Shadwick (23) leading the way but no-one could get a handle on the visiting attack as the hosts were bowled out for 162, with Josh Haine (3-39) the pick of the bowlers.

Tristian Lundqvist (26) and Gilbert (23), got off to a flier in the face of some wayward Churches bowling and the score reached 50 before Danny Hunt (2-34) made the breakthrough and sent the former back to the hutch.

That breakthrough triggered a cluster of wickets as Warminster slumped from 50-0 to 86-6, with Chris Gilchrist picking up 4-33.

However, Warminster’s Sam Dufosee smashed his way to a quick-fire 41 that put the visitors on the road to victory before Matt Greatley (12*) and Haine (15*) saw them to a two-wicket success within 30 overs.

Division Three

Collingbourne claimed a nine run victory at Swindon A to close the gap on their second-placed hosts to 31 points.

The visitors got off to a fine start after winning the toss as they put on a 120-run opening wicket stand before Ryan Fraser fell for 57.

Fellow opener Graham Chandler finally went in the 34th over for 75 before a 47-run partnership between skipper David Malley and Graham Scott (43) helped push Collingbourne up to 240-7 at the close of their innings.

Swindon made steady progress in their reply, but wickets from Archie Scott and leg-spinner Fraser saw them go from 44-0 to 59-2 before a third-wicket stand of 59 between Josh Codling and Matt Baker repaired the damage.

However, the visitors brought on another leg-spinner in the shape of Owen Sheppard (3-30) and Swindon fell from 117-2 to 142-4, Lewis Kenworthy (41) attempted to anchor the innings for the hosts but wickets fell at regular intervals and Swindon were dismissed for 231 in the 44th over.

Combe kept things tight with the ball as Peter Lee-Wright (9-4-11-1) and Andy Hulbert (9-3-10-1) produced unplayable opening spells before Simon Elliman (5-28) ripped out the middle order as Bathford closed on 121-8.

Goatacre 3rd claimed a superb 24-run win at second placed Nationwide House 2nd.

Tunmore’s innings helped the hosts post 194-5 from their innings, with Wes Gilbert (37) and Andy Rawlings (22*) offering fine support.

Whiteley then got things going with the ball as he picked up a wicket in the second over of Park’s reply.

But it was his second spell that proved to be the telling one for Marlborough as he picked up 5-14 from five overs as Buscot were bowled out for 148.

Goatacre 4ths were bowled out for just 50 by table topping Chippenham 4ths but did restore some pride by taking five wickets of their own in reply with Martyn Riley taking 4-14 as the visitors got home in 12.3 overs.
