SWINDON 2nd squeezed out a three-wicket victory in their Wiltshire League Division One mid-table clash with Winsley on Saturday.

Winsley amassed 237-7 from their 45 overs, James O’Connell scoring 62 and Jon Keepen adding 56.

But led by 60 from Paul Paginton and 53 from Sean Parker, Swindon got home with four balls remaining.

Matt Unwin’s 118 in 122 balls, including 13 fours and five sixes, helped Corsham 2nd wrap up a six-wicket triumph over Lacock, Tom Abbott adding an unbeaten 96 and Andy Davis 55 in their winning 308-4.

Earlier Adam Mitchell had blasted 118 in 73 balls for Lacock, including eight fours and three sixes, Steve Copland adding 69 in 307-7.

Philip Cook took 4-19 and Richard Gaunt 3-46 as Malmesbury defeated Nationwide House by 73 runs.

John Reivers hit 55 of House’s 178 all out, replying to Malmesbury’s 251-9, in which Michael Collinson hit 83, James Pearce-Smith 66 not out and George Royle 51.

Division Two

LEADERS Biddestone 2nd made it seven wins from eight games with a six-wicket triumph over Bradford on Avon, who scored 197-7, Jonny Marion hitting 52 and Aled Evans taking 4-29.

A century partnership from Will Pricthett (75 not out) and James Bartlett (50 not out) guided Biddestone to w winning 201-4.

Beehive Southwick recorded a second win of the season, thanks to a fine batting performance against Swindon A.

Neil Harber’s 82, 63 from Clive Warren and 53 from Grant Savides got Beehive to 309-8 and despite Lee Baden’s 94, Swindon were 86 runs short, Dan Thomas taking 4-21.

Division Three

Swindon United Churches beat Heytesbury & Sutton Veny by seven wickets for a third win on the trot.

Alan Boivin took 3-34 and Chris Gilchrist 3-13 as Heytesbury were dismissed for 138 in the 41st over and Jimmy Mann (51 off 76 balls) and Danny Hunt (40 from 47) moved Churches towards the target they eventually passed in the 32nd over.

Murad Khan took 6-12 in nine overs to dismiss Collingbourne for just 35 and secure a 145-run win for leaders Chippenham 2ndm Jake Pettit’s 38 having helped Chippenham to 180 all out.

Division Four

Combe Down got back to winning ways with a first away victory of the season at Wanborough.

Wanborough were asked to bat first and found themselves under the cosh throughout as Ramkumar Vijayakumar took 6-21 to dismiss them for 90 in 34 overs.

Tom Hulbert (29) made brisk progress towards the modest target before Vijayakumar (26 not out) guided Downers to a winning 91-3 inside 19 overs.

Wroughton Wranglers’ Ben Webber took 3-0 in just eight balls as they dismissed Seagry for 68, Mark McMeeking taking 3-16.

Mike Evans’ unbeaten 24 and 25 from Craig Taylor secured a seven-wicket victory.

Leaders Nationwide House 2nd slipped to their second loss of the campaign, by 20 runs to Marlborough 2nd.

Dave Slater’s 50 helped Marlborough to 152-8 before Joe Arkwright (4-27) and Tom Kayley (3-10) dismissed House for 132.

Division Five

MELKSHAM’S bowlers did the damage in their 196-run thumping of Buscot Park.

Joe Veacock (78 in 30 balls), Tom Wallis (64) and Dan Watts (34 off 14 balls) helped Melksham reach 285-6 and the reply was never in the hunt.

The Melksham attack all chipped in as Buscot Park were out for 89 in the 27th over.

Alden Muench took 4-11 as Biddestone 3rd dismissed Blunsdon for 188, then knocked off the runs for the loss of seven wickets, James Howell’s hitting an unbeaten 57, while Blunsdon’s Ray Patel took 3-28.

Trowbridge 2nd stayed top of the pile, beating Bathford by eight wickets.

Tom Lloyd took 3-1 in six overs and Jake Paxton 4-10 in 4.4 to ensure Bathford were all out for 94, Adam Bolton’s unbeaten 32 guiding Trowbridge to their target inside 16 overs.

Division Six

DEVIZES 2nd stayed in touch with leaders Marshfield 2nd as Jacob Rogers scored 62 of his side’s 180-8 against Erlestoke, Liam Foster taking 3-34.

Fourteen year old Dom Shearn took 6-28 to secure a 40-run win Marshfield stayed on top of the pile with a 68-run success over Bradford on Avon 2nd.

Glenn Perry’s 43 helped them to 154 all out, before Alastair Christie took 6-25 to sending Bradford packing for 86.

Division Seven

WESTBURY 2nd stayed unbeaten, defeating Swindon B by 36 runs.

Tamin Ibrahim (49 not out) and Mike Tuck (46) helped Westbury amass 220 all out and Swindon were short on 184-7.

Knocks of 95 not out from Sam Watt and 95 from Connor Thompson, plus 53 from Mark Wilson, helped Highworth amass 403-7 against Corsham 4th.

Dan Hunt’s 3-24 helped seal a 217-run win despite Simon Wall’s 40 in 186 all out.

Jack Smith took 5-32 for Great Bedwyn 2nd as Beehive Southwick 2nd were dismissed for 116, Jamie Robinson hitting 51 as Bedwyn got home by six wickets.

Division Eight

LEADERS Trowbridge 3rd suffered an 18-run loss to Box 2nd, for whom Ian Doyle made an unbeaten 54, Vishal Oswal taking 3-21.

Trowbridge fell short on 145, Ben Richardson taking 5-27.

Darren Armstrong took 4-2 in 3.1 overs as Chippenham 4th dismissed Bathford 2nd for just 69 before Tim Dunford’s unbeaten 41 got Chippenham to their target without loss.

Division Nine

MARLBOROUGH 3rd amassed 287-1 against Biddestone 4th, thanks to Nick Crabbe’s 179 not out, supported by Andrew Crabbe (64).

Biddestone scored a valiant 171 all out in reply, Mark Merriman scoring 77 as Ryan Lockwood took 2-12.

Tom Pike’s 62 helped Devizes 3rd to 183-7 and a 19-run win against Buscot Park 2nd.
