Gladiators club together for their first match of the season
Western theme for the launch of the FPT Trophy western region
Gloucestershire Gladiators start off their 2008 Friends Provident Trophy
campaign at noon tomorrow in a home match against Worcestershire Royals.
The match will be Gloucestershire's Club Day, where local cricket and other
sports club are encouraged to come to the ground in their "club colours."
Many extra activities have been arranged, including coaching for all the
junior club cricketers and special interval games.
All clubs will be publicised over the PA system during the day and there is
an opportunity to have a club photograph taken with some of the Gladiators
which will appear on the official Gloucestershire CCC website.
This year the two division format has been replaced by four groups of five
teams in the initial stages of the Friends Provident Trophy. The Gladiators
are in the western region, which was recently celebrated at the Wild West
themed regional launch.
Players from the western region put on their cowboy hats and became gun
totting cowboys for the day to mark the revised new "high noon" start times
for FPT matches.
