WINSLEY began their season with a bang as they beat Great Bedwyn by seven
wickets.
Terrence Duffin hit 56 not out and Andy Cross took 5-42 on a impressive
opening day for Andy Ellett's men.
Skipper Ellett said: "It was good to get off to a positive start and
hopefully that will enable us to build a little bit of momentum.
"Last year Great Bedwyn were one of the top teams in the league so we were
expecting a tough game.
"If we knew we'd get 18 points out of the game before going we would have
been really happy..
"Rob Murphy and Jon Spencer bowled a very tight opening spell, Andy Cross
took five for 42 and in the middle part of the innings Rich Wright bowled
very well.

"Batting-wise we approached it very sensibly on a wicket that wasn't easy to
score quickly on.
"Terry Duffin was 56 not out and Charlie Holton and Rob Murphy chipped in
which got us over the line.
"It built a little bit of confidence for Terry. It was good for him to get
off to a good start and he certainly looked in good form towards the end."
