A LAST wicket partnership of 32 between Andy Storey and 14-year-old Ben
Brown sealed an exciting one wicket win for Beanacre over Chippenham 3rds in
Division Three of the Wiltshire League.
Having been put into bat Chippenham made a slow start against an accurate
opening Beanacre attack. The main stay of the Chippenham innings was
youngster Rob Gillespie, who made a patent 34.
All the Beanacre bowlers did well to restrict Chippenham to 136 for eight,
with the pick being 14-year-old Alex Tanner, who took two for seven from six
overs.
In reply Beanacre were made to struggle against the pace of Ian Charles, who
finished with incredible figures of four for seven from 12 overs.
Gradually Beanacre fought their way back into the game, mainly thanks to 45
from John Adcock, before the last wicket pair saw them home.
