WARMINSTER Town manager Paul Newman is standing down after just one season
in the top job at the Wessex League Division One club.
But Newman said he was not quitting the club for good and would still be
involved in some capacity.
Newman said:"I've stood down as manager for personal reasons and work
commitments. It's a big setback for me because I'm quite affiliated with the
club.
"I'm disappointed but there's a time where you've got to say I can't commit
myself to it. There's other things that come before that.
"I'm still going to be on the scene. Hopefully everyone sticks together and
the club keeps going forward."
Newman has been involved at Warminster since the early 80s as a player and a
member of the management team, spending only one season away during that
time at Calne Town as a player.

The outgoing boss said he appreciated the backing he had received during his
time as manager.
Newman said: "The support I've had has been second to none, I can't ask for
anything else from people behind the scenes. They have backed me 100 per
cent and I thank them for everything they have done."
Newman's final game in charge ended in fitting fashion as Warminster
trounced East Cowes Victoria 4-0 at Weymouth Street on Saturday.
