BATH owner Bruce Craig believes the club are on the right path towards achieving his goal of sustained domestic and European success.

The Aviva Premiership club yesterday announced that Wiltshire technology giant Dyson would become their new title partner for the next two seasons, with Craig seeing parallels between the two organisations’ pursuit of excellence.

“They (Dyson) have got a lot of very young people employed there and the young English talent that Bath Rugby has invested in is the future of our club,’’ said Craig.

“We’ve got players such as George Ford, Kyle Eastmond, Jonathan Joseph and Anthony Watson and guys coming through the academy who are all potential England players, who have got real X factor.

“These kids are only 20-21 and if we can get them to stay together for the next four-five years, it will be without any doubt an exceptional team.

“The top aspiration of this club is to be the top English club.’’ Bath narrowly missed out on the Aviva Premiership play-offs and Amlin Challenge Cup success last season as head coach Mike Ford shaped a young, exciting squad.

Coupled with their ever-improving training facilities at Farleigh House and plans for a redeveloped Rec – which Craig conceded are unlikely to happen until the 2016-17 season at the earliest – the Bath owner is confident the club are striding purposefully towards an exciting new era.

The partnership with Malmesbury-based Dyson will see the players sporting shirts featuring some of the company' different technologies and Craig added: “What Dyson as an organisation does and Bath Rugby does is look for those marginal gains.

“There is a great marriage between the two organisations with the joint vision of pushing the boundaries of innovation and pushing forward to be the best.’’ Sir James Dyson added: “What Bruce has done at Bath Rugby is amazing.

“He’s put a lot of trust in youth and they are really very exciting team playing exciting rugby.

“A lot of Dyson’s workforce are already supporters in Wiltshire – they come down to watch Bath.

“It’s great to be supporting and helping them.’’

  • BATH winger Semesa Rokoduguni has signed a one-year extension to his contract that will keep him at the Rec until 2016.

Meanwhile, Bath will play two warm-up matches ahead of the 2014/15 season.

On Saturday, August 16, they welcome Scarlets to the Rec (3pm). A week later, winger Matt Banahan returns home as Bath travel to face Jersey on August 23 (3pm).
