With influential number eight Adam Sullivan returning, Trowbridge played with the elements in the first half, the visitors gaining the majority of possession.

The hosts’ Tom Weaver, deputising with the kicking duties for the absent Lloyd Davis, kicked similar 40-metre penalties in the sixth and the 15th minute.

For the rest of the first half the forwards battered away with openside flankers and captains Barry Coombs and Liam Wilkinson prominent.

Towcestrians were unable to breach the Trowbridge defence until just before half time when a long kick into Towcestrians territory was gathered and a series of phases ended in centre David Williams going over in the right-hand corner.

The match turned in the first minute of the second half when Trowbridge could not deal with a wicked bounce from a long kick, leading to the visitors’ left wing Matt Bodily scoring.

Full back James Falvey and when Trowbridge second row Scott Williams was sin binned for retaliation, Towcestrians gained the upper hand.

Falvey added a penalty and Towcestrians’ confidence drew with further tries from Falvey, number eight Craig Holton and replacement Ben Roe, all were converted by Falvey who also kicked another penalty.
