WESTBURY ground out a draw at home to Lytchett Minster, despite missing seven regular first-team players.

Three of the home side’s front row were absent, but the experienced Geoff Wheeler came in at prop, flanker Lee Moore stepped up to hooker and 50 year old Paul Dolman made is first-team debut off the bench.

The first half was played mainly between both 22's with Westbury’s defence being strong although a misfiring lineout and high penalty count meant the scoring opportunities were few and far between.

Westbury managed to take the lead through a Jack Brooks penalty and produced the game’s only try’scoring opportunity when centre Chris Vaughan passed wide to winger Rob Shaw who lost his footing with the line beckoning.

Minster tied the scores with a penalty and the second half continued along the same pattern.

Brooks added a further penalty having missed one from the same position minutes earlier, but Westbury’s high penalty count let Lytchett back in the game again.
