Scrum-half Micky Young is to leave Bath Rugby at the end of the season to join Newcastle Falcons.

Young has made 32 appearances in the blue, black and white since arriving at The Rec in 2013 from Aviva Premiership rivals Leicester Tigers.

The 26-year-old started his career with the Falcons and will head back to Kingston Park this summer.

He said: “I’m sad to be leaving Bath – it’s a great club, with fantastic players, coaches, staff and supporters.

“My focus remains on Bath for the rest of what has been a great season so far, but I’m also excited to be returning to Newcastle and am looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

Bath head coach Mike Ford added: “Micky is a talented player in what has become a very competitive position within our squad.

“I’m sure he’ll be a real asset for Newcastle and we wish him all the best there.”
