MELKSHAM skipper Callum Hurn was delighted by his side’s display as they put their local rivals to the sword in Dorset & Wilts One North.

The visitors were in good form right from the kick off as a quick break from Steve Watson allowed winger Adam Davies to score out wide.

Pressure was building against the home team, Nick Suter carrying over for Melksham’s second and Simon Foster adding the conversion.

Foster then landed a drop goal to keep the scoreboard ticking over before Dave Dyke took a crash ball to extend the advantage.

An injury to Davies brought Chris Mulgrew off the bench for his debut and when quick ball found him, he scored with his first touch of the ball.

It was more of the same in the second half as a box kick by Callum Hurn was claimed by Scott Davis breaking through to score, Foster adding the extras.

Relentless pressure brought three more tries from Foster, Joe Hargreaves and Watson.

Hurn said” We were determined to put together a good game.

“Our pressure was constant and our execution precise.

“Every player did his part to produce a team effort in attack and defence. It was a strong performance throughout.’’

Warminster were forced to concede their Dorset & Wilts One South clash at leaders Dorset Dockers as injuries left them with only 14 men available to make the trip.
