WARMINSTER avenged their 60-5 defeat from earlier in the season to give their Dorset & Wilts One South survival hopes a welcome boost.

The hosts, minus skipper John McCeadie, made a bad start as Dorset dominated and scored an early converted try.

Speedsters James Pinnell and Reece Smith on the wing helped Warminster get a foothold in the game but it was the pack who broke through, second row Declan Cooper touching down.

Jason Sprangle missed the conversion but did kick a penalty to give his side the lead before number eight and captain for the day Dean Priestman powered over for the second try – his 10th of the season.

A Dorset penalty saw them trail 13-10 at the break but Warminster started the second half well when 17 year old centre Jack McIntyre blasted through tackles to go under the posts, Sprangle converting.

The hosts then lost hooker Alex Jenkins to the sin-bin and Dorset took advantage to score again.

But galvanised by the words of coach Dave Coleman, the bonus-point was secured by Warminster as Pinnell offloaded to replacement Dan McIntyre.
