TOBY Booth insists there will be no fear factor for Bath Rugby when they bid to book a place in the European Champions Cup semi-finals this weekend.

Bath face a formidable challenge as they travel away to the Aviva Stadium – home of Ireland’s Six Nations champions – to take on a Leinster side brimming with talent and experience in the last eight.

Leinster have established themselves as one of European rugby’s super powers in recent years, having won three Heineken Cup crowns between 2009 and 2012.

Bath, meanwhile, only returned to the continent’s top-tier competition this season after a two-year absence and got their campaign off to a nightmare start with defeats in the opening two fixtures.

However, they produced a heroic response to record four straight victories and secure what seemed an impossible qualification from the group stages, giving them the belief that anything is possible in the competition.

First-team coach Booth says that although Bath are more than aware of the qualities their opponents possess, they have the belief that they are capable of tasting success in Dublin.

“We know the challenge that’s ahead of us but we have to try to make the best of it,” said Booth.

“We know what we need to do and it’s now up to us to try and go out there and execute that.

“Leinster are an excellent team that have played in some very big games over the years, and they are going to be buoyed by boys coming back in having had success on international duty with Ireland.

“We need to make sure that we just look after what we can control. If we do that then we will be able to compete with them.

“It’s not going to be easy and we are very respectful of them but we know that if we go there and play to the best of our abilities we will have an outstanding chance.

“No one has been in the position we were in and still qualified before.

“We knew we faced an uphill challenge but you just have to believe you are in the chase, and we have to look to do that again this weekend.”

Bath’s Six Nations internationals did not feature in the 29-14 Aviva Premiership win at bottom side London Welsh last Sunday but they will be available again this weekend.

That means England stars George Ford, Jonathan Joseph, Anthony Watson and Dave Attwood are all likely to come back into the side, while Wales prop Paul James has also returned to fitness after injury.
