BATH Rugby have a clean bill of health for Saturday’s Aviva Premiership final showdown with Saracens.

Mike Ford’s men booked their place in this weekend’s showpiece at Twickenham with a barnstorming 47-10 triumph over fierce rivals Leicester Tigers at The Rec.

Ford confirmed his troops came through that contest unscathed and have a fully-fit squad to pick from for their mouth-watering clash against Sarries.

“Everyone is fit, it’s great,” said Ford.

“With the way the season unfolded we didn’t play every week because we got knocked out of the Champions Cup.

“We had a couple of weeks off in between games and that allowed us to not play players who weren’t 100 per cent fit and they are all back now.

“We’ve been a bit lucky but you have always got to be a bit lucky with injuries. We were a bit unlucky back in October when we had no back-row.

“We had all our injuries this time last year, with Francois Louw, Rob Webber, Carl Fearns and Matt Garvey all out, and George (Ford) was hanging on with his shoulder.

“But we are all fit this year which is a great position to be in.”

It would seem unlikely that Ford would opt to alter a side that saw of Leicester so emphatically but the Bath boss says there is so much talent at his disposal that selection is not set in stone.

“We’ve debated it (making changes),” said Ford.

“There are some very good players not playing and some very good players on the bench. It’s a good position to be in.

“We can pick a team that can play slightly different to the one that started to on Saturday if we wanted to.”

Ford conceded that confidence in the camp was sky high following their taming of the Tigers but was quick to point out that no one in the camp is getting ahead of themselves with a formidable Sarries side lying between them and Premiership glory.

“Being a northerner you just bring the t right back down. We haven’t won anything yet,” said Ford.

“We enjoyed the day and the crowd at The Rec was incredible, the best I’ve seen it.

“We were against our old foes, we played some attractive rugby and we are in a final that we’ve not been in for a while.

“The boys enjoyed the night but something we’ve said all along is that we come in Monday morning and look at the tape and say this is where we need to get better.

“And we need to get better because we’re playing against a very good Saracens side.

“The momentum and what’s gone on at the club this year all the way through has been fantastic for us. Hopefully we’ll take that into Twickenham on Saturday.”
