BATH Rugby face a stiff challenge to reach the knockout stages of the European Champions Cup next season after being drawn into a group of death.

Mike Ford’s side have been pitted against defending champions Toulon in Pool 5, with the French giants having claimed their third straight continental crown back in May.

Another three-time champion is also in the group in the shape of Irish province Leinster, while Bath’s fellow Aviva Premiership side Wasps complete the quartet.

Bath head coach Ford said: “European competition is the pinnacle of club rugby and we’re really excited to have been drawn against three former champions of the competition.

“Each team presents their own challenges, and whilst we may be more familiar with Wasps, it means we know just how competitive they can be.

“We want to test ourselves against the best, and can’t wait for the challenge that awaits.”
