BATH Rugby’s coaching staff have all agreed long-term contract extensions at the club.

Head coach Mike Ford and first-team coaches Neal Hatley, Toby Booth and Darren Edwards have all committed themselves to a further four years at The Rec.

The quartet have overseen an impressive resurgence at Bath, with the club reaching the Aviva Premiership final and European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-finals last season.

Ford said: “We’re delighted to be able to take the club further and build on what we have achieved with this special group of players.

“The level of commitment at this club is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced: we come to work every day looking to improve on yesterday, which instils a real buzz amongst the team. Now we’re just really eager to get the new season under way.”

Bath managing director Tarquin McDonald sees the re-signing of the coaches as a signal of intent from the club.

He said: “Bath Rugby enjoyed one of our best seasons in recent memory in 2014-15, and we want to continue building on that.

“We have an excellent coaching team and they are central to everything we want this club to achieve in coming seasons. Their mindset is such that they are constantly looking to improve and build on the achievements of this talented team.

“The brilliant work they do is reflected in the World Cup selection of 12 of our players. They’re writing a new chapter in Bath Rugby history and, as we commence with the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations, we’ve only seen the beginning of it.”
