WESTBURY Ladies started their South West North Two campaign against newcomers Bath Ladies 2nd.

The game was started at 12 a side with Bath struggling for numbers and the home side lending the visitors two players.

Westbury immediately put the pressure on Bath, pushing them back with excellent defensive work.

Newcomer Kerry Ackerman ripped the ball and powered 20 metres to cross the line for her first try.

Westbury maintained their pressure and, with excellent quick hands, soon had their second try as captain Lana Plummer crossed the line and duly converted.

The hosts turned the ball over with some excellent forward work, Plummer getting her second of the day and again converting.

Plummer crossed for her hat-trick within 20 minutes before the ball was worked wide to winger Sasha Smith, who sprinted half the pitch to touch down under the posts for her second in as many games, Plummer converting.

Plummer broke through four tackles to touch down again and converted for a 38-0 half-time lead.

Plummer added two more scores after the break and two more conversions and took her personal tally to 42 points with yet another before the final whistle.

Westbury Ladies now have two weeks off from league games before a tough trip to Chipping Sodbury on October 11.
