BATH second row Will Spencer will join Worcester Warriors next season.

The 23 year-old has made 11 first team appearances for the club and spent part of the 2013/14 season on loan with London Welsh.

Bath Rugby head coach Mike Ford said: “Will is a promising player, who has been unlucky with injuries at Bath meaning he hasn’t been able to get as much game time as he’d like.

"Second row is a very competitive position in our squad, and we wish Will all the best at Worcester.”

The club has also confirmed that Academy scrum-half Will Homer has been dual-registered with Bristol Rugby, and tighthead prop Kane Palma-Newport has joined London Welsh on loan for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile Tom Ellis has renewed his contract with Bath, in a move that sees the former England U20 lock make the step up from the Academy to the senior squad from the 2016/17 season.

Ellis, 21, made his senior debut last season in the European Rugby Champions Cup, appearing in back-to-back matches against Glasgow Warriors and Toulouse and has made 10 senior appearances – including four this season.

Academy Director, Danny Grewcock, said: "Tom is a fantastic athlete who has developed remarkably well. He’s not looked out of place when playing for the first team, and I’m sure he’ll keep working hard on his all-round game and that we’ll see more of him in the future.”

Ford added: "We’ve been impressed by Tom’s character for a long time. He’s really benefited from the culture of our Academy system and he’s a big lad who will cause the opposition no end of trouble. We look forward to seeing his continued progression here at the club.”
