HEAD coach Dave George insists Bradford on Avon's results are testament to the progress the Ashley Lane club have made this season despite their lowly league standing.

Bradford clinched a third Southern Counties South victory of the campaign on Saturday, earning a welcome bonus point as they saw off bottom side Dorchester.

While George's men are 12 points behind fourth-from-bottom Wimborne in the table, many of the defeats so far this term have been by no more than one or two scores and the head coach reckons it shows the steps forward made by his squad.

"The lads are improving week in week out and the spirit is good in the camp,'' said George.

"The players are enjoying their rugby and have been stringing a few results together.

"It's nothing like it was last season and I think that shows how far we've come.

"We've got youngsters like Fin Dewar and Bryce Conybear applying themselves and having Josh Felix back in the side has made a big difference for us. Our scrum has also been at its strongest for much of the season.''

Bradford left it late to grab the bonus point with the last play of the game as Leo Robertson went over for his second try.

The home side fell behind to a Dorchester penalty but responded with a pushover try from five metres out, number eight Ed Dawson getting the touchdown and Felix adding the extras.

In the second half, outside centre Robertson crossed for his first but when skipper Oli Stacey was shown a yellow card, Dorchester scored a converted try to cut the gap to just two points.

Dewar's score got Bradford on the right track before Robertson wrapped up the five points, Felix adding one conversion.
