BRADFORD on Avon Rugby U15s squad finished a successful season on a high by winning their last series of matches to end as champions at the Dorchester 12s Festival and bag the ‘Spirit of Rugby’ trophy too.

The award recognises the team who best embodies the RFU values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.

The squad, some of whom have played together since infant school, worked hard on their fitness last summer under the guidance of head coach Keith Dewar and have welcomed several new players into the fold during the year.

Captain Sam Boughton said: “We played some great rugby against quality opposition.

“It was an intense day but we were lucky to have inspiring coaching and support from the touchline. It’s a real advantage for us that we all get on so well and play hard for each other.”
