UNCAPPED Charlie Ewels has been named in England's provisional Elite Player Squad for this month's pre-season training camp.
Ewels is joined in the squad by clubmates George Ford, Jonathan Joseph, Semesa Rokoduguni and Anthony Watson.
England have selected Wasps back row Nathan Hughes for the first time while Leicester hooker and club captain Tom Youngs, who won 31 caps under the previous regime, returns after being previously overlooked by head coach Eddie Jones.
Gloucester wing Johnny May is back from knee surgery but high-profile omissions from the 45 are centre Luther Burrell, fly-half Danny Cipriani and wing Chris Ashton.
The squad will meet at the Lensbury Hotel from August 6-8 and take part in training, planning meetings and individual reviews in preparation for the Old Mutual Wealth Series against South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia later in the year.
England will announce a final 45-man EPS on 30 September for the Old Mutual Wealth Series starting against South Africa at Twickenham Stadium on November 12.
