BRADFORD on Avon head coach Dave George admitted his side's 26-24 triumph over Dorchester in the Dorset & Wilts Vase had come at a cost to the Ashley Lane outfit.

The home side scored four tries to book themselves a semi final at county rivals Minety on October 15 but the triumph was marred by serious injuries to two players.

Centre Josh Felix sustained a broken hand in the match and there was a similar injury for back row Rufus Faulkner-Lee. With Will Slark missing this weekend's Dorset & Wilts One North clash with Warminster, resources at the club are becoming stretched.

"There are plenty of back rowers around, but centre is going to be a bit of a problem,'' said George.

"We'll also have Will Slark away so we know it (Warminster) is going to be a tough game.''

Fin Dewar scored three tries from full-back as Bradford squeezed home in an attritional tussle, number eight Andrew Twinney also crossing with two conversions from Felix and one from Slark.

"It was very close and basically turned into their forwards against our backs,'' said George.

"They had a massive pack and had the upper hand there but we coped well in the loose and once the ball got out into the backs, we looked dangerous.''

Corsham head coach Tim Draper admitted his side paid the price for a poor first half as they were beaten 35-30 at Swindon College Old Boys in their tie.

Three Dan Goldsworthy penalties had given the visitors the advantage but College moved well clear with a series of tries and seemed to have the game in the bag.

Corsham upped their efforts though and Tom Rodwell, Ben Russell and Alex Twigg touched down, Goldsworthy adding two conversions as they came up just short.

Draper said: "In the first half we didn't play very well and they (College) were stronger and more organised, but we upped our performance and physicality after half time and got close.''
