ENGLAND fly-half George Ford will sit out Bath's European Challenge Cup quarter final against French side Brive on Saturday (12.45pm).

Ford, who helped England to retain the Six Nations Championship earlier this month, will not feature in the last-eight clash, with his club resting him after the amount of top-level rugby he has played in recent weeks.

Wales No 10 Rhys Priestland is in the frame to direct operations from fly-half as Bath go in search of a place in the last four at the Rec.

Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder has also described hooker Ross Batty as "touch and go'' for the match, with the forward suffering from a knee problem.

Prop Max Lahiff may also be an injury concern for the home side, who are facing a pivotal two weeks with 'The Clash' against Leicester Tigers in the Aviva Premiership at Twickenham also looming on April 8.
