CORSHAM coach Tim Draper paid tribute to players and coaching staff as the Lacock Road side wrapped up the Dorset & Wilts One North title with a 24-14 triumph at Bradford on Avon on Saturday.

Draper's side needed just a point to confirm the silverware, but instead bagged a full haul of five as Robbie Robinson, Kalif Barnes, Harry Beazer and Lewis Jones ran in tries at Ashley Lane.

Barnes and Dan Goldsworthy added conversions as Corsham pulled away with three tries in the second half, Owen Morton and Fin Dewar replying for the home side and Dewar adding a conversion.

"I'm delighted for the players who have who worked hard all season to keep improving and they fully deserve what they have achieved,'' said Draper.

"Our squad is still developing and there is a lot more to come which is an exciting prospect for us.

"Adam Jamieson, in his first coaching role since retiring early from the professional game, has had a hugely positive impact on the team and it has been great working with him this season.

"Achieving promotion also reflects well on the club as a whole as many of our players have come up from the junior section.

"This, combined with the experience of our longer serving players, will stand us in good stead moving forward.

"It will be much tougher for us in Southern Counties South next season, but we are looking forward to the challenge.''

Draper added: "It was a really good competitive game and we needed to play some quality rugby to pull away from a strong Bradford team who, I think, will be challenging for the title themselves next season.

"The only disappointing part of the game was a serious injury (broken leg) to Lewis Jones, our vice-captain, in the last minute.

"He has been a major part of our success this season and everyone at the club hopes that he recovers well.''

Bradford coach Dave George added: "It was a very, very good game and the best side won it in the end.

"They capitalised on a couple of our mistakes but both sides had even amounts of pressure.

"Congratulations from all at Bradford to Corsham and we wish them luck in Southern Counties South. They are pretty much a complete team and we now know where we want to be.''
