DAVE George admits his squad are primed for Saturday's Dorset & Wilts One North summit showdown with Combe Down after they climbed back above the Bath side to the top of the table with a 45-0 thrashing of Minety.

Bradford are top on ponts difference and have a match in hand on Down with the contest proving potentially pivotal as the title race hits the home straight.

Minety suffered an eight-try beating with the match switched to Royal Wootton Bassett RFC after the villagers' pitches failed inspections.

But after Minety full-back had halted Bradford wing Murray Dewar with a magnificent tackle, the visitors took the lead with a Josh Felix penalty.

Bradford’s first try came from a break within their own 22 as centre Dan Bright broke the line and sent winger Dewar over in the corner.

A second try followed in the 36th minute with another break-out try scored under the posts by Dewar, Felix converting, as he did after the third try that came almost from the kick off, Dewar feeding Bright who ran in from 35 metres to score.

Dewar’s hat-trick try came in the 47th minute after a fluent backs move and he added a fourth in the 64th minute when he found himself on the end of another fine backs’ move.

Minety shipped three more tires in the final 10 minutes and had flanker James Stuart was sent off, Dewar taking his tally to five and Bright completing a hat-trick, Felix's tally of conversions ending at four.

Bradford ended the match winners by 51-0 to cement their place at the top of the table.

George said: "Playing at Bassett probably suited us because it was a big, wide pitch and I didn't think we were troubled too much.

"It was a good all-round team performance and the boys are looking forward to the Combe Down game now.

"Everybody keeps talking about it and the boys are ready.''
