TROWBRIDGE reinforced their Southern Counties South credentials at the weekend, climbing up to second in the table with a 31-3 success away at Wiltshire rivals Devizes.
The victory was the seventh in a row for Dan Jeffries’ side and they closed the gap to leaders Marlborough to just two points.
Marlborough got the better of their top-of-table clash against Sherborne 19-5, with Trowbridge able to leapfrog the beaten Dorset side as a result.
Trowbridge now face a crunch fixture away at mid-table side Yeovil on Saturday, with the game representing their game in hand over Marlborough so another victory would fire them to the top of the table.
Elsewhere, Corsham were able to retain their position in fourth in the table having beaten Yeovil themselves – 31-20 on the road – last weekend.
Corsham have no game this weekend.
