Trowbridge Rugby Club seeking new players

Trowbridge Rugby Club has started training for the new season at Green Lane on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.

Players are requested to attend, but especially those with aspirations to play in the 1st and 2nd teams. With several players moving up from last season's colts team it is hoped that competition for places in the squad will be keen.

New players will also we welcome, especially those who may relish the challenge of playing in a higher league.

The club successfully moved from Southern Counties to South West 2 East last season and will be playing in the new South West 1 East league this season which contains 14 clubs.

They will renew fixtures with Walcot, Wootton Bassett and Oakmeadians and will have fixtures with Marlow and Buckingham for the first time.

The 2nd team won Dorset & Wiltshire 2 North last season and have been promoted to Dorset & Wilts 1 North.

They will be much better placed than they were when promoted 2 seasons ago as they now have a stronger squad.

This is because several experienced players returned last seaeon and several of the previous years colt players successfully moved up.

The 3rd team will play in Dorset & Wilts 3 North and there are plans to run a 4th/Veterans side on an occasional basis.
