CHIPPENHAM coach Rob Alford has praised his title-winning side and insists
they are ready to take the next step up the rugby pyramid.
Chippenham were crowned South West Two East champions after a memorable 42-7
home win over Swanage and Wareham on Saturday and are now heading for South
West One, just one division below the national leagues.
Alford said: "We had a good crowd up there and it was nice to win the league
at home.
"We expected it to be a tight game but we cut loose in the second half."
Alford is very confident his team can be successful in South West One.
He said: "I think we're better equipped than last time and not just in
playing strength, we've got a stronger coaching team as well.

"There's no one in that league I think will run away with it and we're
targeting a top half finish.
"It's a bold thing to say but we're looking forward to it."
