CORSHAM closed their Southern Counties South campaign with a 36-12 defeat at
North Dorset on Saturday.
Fielding a weakened squad due to late call-offs, the Wiltshire visitors took
some time to leave the blocks and found themselves three tries down in the
opening 20 minutes.
The youthful Corsham side eventually began to compete, however, and when
North Dorset failed to clear their lines from a missed penalty attempt,
second row Tim Minty pounced on a loose ball to touch down, with Andy
Williamson on target with the conversion.
The North Dorset side pulled clear with three more tries in the second half,
while Corsham, already certain of Southern Counties rugby next season,
rallied again and grabbed a second consolation try when No 8 Ian McNerlin
finished off a spell of forward pressure by touching down out wide.
