HEAD coach Tim Draper acclaimed his side's most accomplished attacking display of the season as Corsham moved to within two wins of the Dorset & Wilts One North title after a 66-0 hammering of Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd on Saturday.

With four matches remaining, the Lacock Road men are 13 points clear of second-placed Warminster, against whom they could clinch the silverware when the two sides meet on April 1.

Rhys Jones, Ben Russell and Hamish Milner bagged a brace of tries apiece as the home side eased to their 18th victory of an all-conquering campaign to date, Adam Draper, George Beavis, Tim Minty and Lewis Jones also crossing the whitewash in the 10-try romp.

Kalif Barnes and Matt Draper shared eight conversions between them.

Coach Draper said: "(It was) by far the best all-round attacking performance of the season so far and the scoreline reflected how the team is becoming more clinical in taking the scoring opportunities they are creating.

"Two more wins are needed from the four games left as we are 13 points ahead at the moment.

"We play tougher opposition over the next few games so we need to keep focused on the match in hand each week.''

Warminster remained on the coat-tails of the leaders with a nine-try 49-10 demolition of hosts Frome 2nd Tom Evans scored a brace of first-half tries, while Dan Woods, Isoa Vulagirua and Kieran Plummer also got on the scoresheet.

Carl Woods and James Pinnell both added a brace of tries apiece after half-time, Sam Couch booting two conversions.

Bradford on Avon took a firm grip on a top four place by maintaining third spot in the table after a 27-24 victory at Pewsey Vale.

Pewsey were undone by four defensive lapses in the first half and too many wasted opportunities in the second, despite having the better of it in after half-time.

The home side surged forward and were on the scoreboard with five minutes gone and number eight Phil Vallis crashed over after a quick tap penalty from scrum-half Tom Regan.

Ten minutes later, after a period of Bradford pressure Vale were caught holding on in a ruck, and the visitors' Fin Dewar landed a penalty but Pewsey hooker Jeremy Horton was then driven over for his side’s second try from a maul.

Bradford turned the game on its head with three tries in 10 minutes to take command, Harry Linge, Andrew Twinney, Ed Dawson and Dewar all crossing the line, Dewar adding two conversions.

Five minutes before half-time Pewsey fly-half James Haynes dotted down unopposed and converted to cut the gap to three points, but mis-communication in the home defence allowed Bradford another converted try before the interval.

Vale were in the ascendancy in the second half and Haynes powered over for his second converted try 15 minutes in and had two further efforts disallowed.

But despite losing Oli Bilton and Jack Rutland to the sin-bin, Bradford held on to see out victory.

Melksham are a point behind Bradford in fourth after their 26-5 success against Chippenham 2nd at Oakfields.

The battle for territory ebbed and flowed for the first 30 minutes until the Melksham backs co-ordinated an attack through midfield, with winger Callum Gillard offloading to full-back Cameron Bull, who stepped defenders to break the deadlock, fly-half Callum Hurn adding the extras.

In the second period, home captain Charlie Radcliffe finished a break down the blindside to touch down in the corner.

Three minutes later, from broken field play, centre Ben Brown carved through midfield to score, Hurn slotting the extras.

Chippenham got on the board with an unconverted try but Melksham's forwards battered away at the line and Matt Plumb forced his way over, Hurn completing the scoring with the conversion.
