MELKSHAM picked up their first victory since the end of November as they edged to a 7-5 victory over Trowbridge 2nd in Dorset & Wilts One North.
The Oakfields side had lost four straight fixtures prior to the derby but their front row was boosted by the return of Paul Hayden and Rob Escott from long-term injury problems.
Territory was traded between the two with neither being able to break the stronghold early on, as Trowbridge tested the defensive line of Melksham with big ball-carrying.
With no score until the final 10 minutes, Trowbridge finally broke the logjam with a try out wide after pressure.
Melksham reacted well, forcing their way up field in a last-ditch attempt with Luke Cador taking the ball at pace and cutting back in to score a last-minute try.
All rested on the shoulders of fly-half Adam Davies, who duly landed the conversion to win with the last kick of the game.
Leaders Bradford on Avon are due to play at Minety this Saturday after the contest between the two sides was postponed last week.
Warminster lost out 33-31 at Supermarine, despite a haul of four tries from Ross Williams, plus a score from Waisale Cakau, Connor North adding three conversions.
