CHIPPENHAM U13s had a convincing victory against Yatton in the Bristol Combination Plate on Sunday. They were rewarded with an early try for Jack Utton after the forwards had delivered fast ball after a series of rucks. Number eight Ross Garty followed up with a charging run, breaking through three tacklers to score, with Tom Douglas converting.
Wing Lewis Clarke then scored a well-worked try after the forwards had won multiple phases of ball, converted by Nick McKibbin.
Chippenham's early intensity was not sustained and they let Yatton back into the game to score.
The points came again in the second half but Chippenham were unable to replicate the same fluency of the first quarter.
Utton scored soon after the break, showing great individual skill to break from his own 22 to score between the posts, with Tom Douglas again converting.
Lewis Clarke scored again taking a long pass from centre McKibbin to run in a try from 50 metres.
The victory was sealed with a final try from fly half Utton after a five-metre scrum, converted by McKibbin.
