Amesbury Town's march towards the Under 13s Blue Division title
continued with a convincing second half performance which blew away a strong
Devizes side.
The game opened in sensational style as Amesbury took the lead with a goal
timed at just 28 seconds. Harry Beckley ran through on the right side and
fired in a powerful shot which the Devizes goalkeeper dived to his right to
palm the ball away but Finn Drury followed up to put the rebound into an
empty net.
The visitors matched Amesbury for much of the remainder of the half in an
even contest and deservedly snatched an equaliser just before the break when
Rory Worthington scored from close range following a defensive mistake by
the home side.

Whatever manager Neil Hollinworth said at half-time, it seemed to work as
Amesbury came out for the second period with much more confidence. They had
to wait until ten minutes into the second half before regaining the lead,
though Josh Wightman's strike from 20 yards on the left was a peach.
From then on it was pretty much one-way traffic as Amesbury Town upped the
pace and began to plunder the Devizes defence throughout which led to a glut
of goals coming at regular intervals.
Beckley added the third in the 48th minute and Chris Kelly tapped in to make
it four just four minutes later. Beckley and Kelly then both grabbed their
second goals as the visitors' defence began to crumble.
Kelly completed his hat-trick with four minutes remaining, leaving just
enough time for Wightman to score his second goal in the final minute with a
superb strike from 25 yards.
Both strikers Drury and Beckley suffered injuries to add to Amesbury's
growing casualty list as next week's focus switches to cup action at Corsham
against Trowbridge Town.
Under 13s Green Division
WESTBURY Youth not only continued their high-scoring form in winning their
final home game of the season against Bromham 8-0, but in doing so also
maintained their 100 per cent home record.
The goals came from Ashley Hargreaves (4), Jack Hayward (2), Kai Bingham and
Luke Booth.
Trowbridge gained all three points with a very determined and gutsy
performance against a strong Melksham team who are challenging for the
title.
They took the game to Melksham and were duly rewarded with goals from Jack
Noden and Nick Josevski.
All the Trowbridge players deserve praise for what can only be described as
their best performance of the season.
Melksham hit the crossbar from the penalty spot and often threatened, but
the Trowbridge defence worked hard together and defended in numbers to
thwart their attacks.
The game was played in great spirit by both teams.
Malmesbury Youth took a 4-1 first half lead against visitors Marlborough
Town before going on to finish 5-1 winners.
Jake James, Ryan Driscoll, Anthony Woolcock and George Barrell (2) scored
for Malmesbury.
Second placed Chippenham Town Youth remain championship contenders after
running out 3-1 winners away to Melksham Town Youth Red.
Adam Stevenson (penalty) scored for Melksham.
Under 13s Red Division
CHIPPENHAM Town Rangers took the lead against Marshfield Juniors but
Marshfield bounced back to lead 3-1.
Rangers never gave up and were eventual 7-4 winners.
Tom Mills (2), Connor Laidlaw (2), Sam Clarke, Aaron Fernandez and Kieran
Drury scored for Rangers, with James Kembrey (2), Max Bucknell and an own
goal replying for Marshfield.
Oliver Rush scored for Dilton Rovers in the 7-1 defeat at the hands of
Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
