Action from the midweek under 12s game between Melksham Town Red and Chippenham Town Youth Blue
MELKSHAM Town Under 12 Reds completed their season with a superb 3-3 draw
against second in the table Chippenham Town Youth Blue in a very
entertaining and competitive midweek match in the Under 12s Red Division.
Melksham opened the scoring after 10 minutes through Sean Overton and then
had to defend solidly as Chippenham came back at them creating several
chances to level the score before finally finding the net through Louis
Bishop to square the match at half-time.
The second half saw Melksham start well and they were soon rewarded for
their pressure as Richard Phillips found space and beat the goalkeeper with
an angled shot into the roof of the net to make the score 2-1.
Shortly after from a corner the ball fell to Melksham defender Tom Perrin
who from some way out hit a superb volley which beat the Chippenham
goalkeeper to make the score 3-1 with 20 minutes left to go.
At 3-1 Melksham were looking likely to add to their tally, but Chippenham,
to their credit, never gave up and with 10 minutes left pulled a goal back
through Callum Hussey.
Then, with almost the last kick of the game, they scored the equaliser with
a strike from a corner by Ash Tuck.
