Young seals victory for FC Chippenham

UNDER NINES: FC Chippenham took the lead against Trowbridge Town Youth in their Under Nines Division One game with a headed goal from Tadgh Feerick.

Trowbridge equalised midway through the second half before Jordan Young made it 2-1 to Chippenham with a fantastic free kick curled in to the top corner Once again Frankie Vaz and Jordan Young dominated the midfield for Chippenham.

Trowbridge Wanderers could still clinch runners-up place after running out 2-1 winners at home to Chippenham Town Youth Whites.

Under Nines Division Two

MELKSHAM Town Saints and Melksham Town Robins enjoyed an entertaining game on a damp evening which was played in the right spirit and with enthusiasm.

Saints took an early lead after a good passing move but Joe Wood fired in a fierce shot for the Robins to bring the scores level.

The game was end-to-end for a while, but the ever energetic and skilful Matt Tanner proved too much for the Robins defence and scored a lovely individual goal followed quickly by a good pass for Kai Bush to calmly score again.

Another good move out of defence was finished again by Kai Bush to make it 4-1 at half-time.

The Robins tightened their defence in the second half and had some good chances but man-of-the-match Tanner scored again to leave the final score at 5-1 to the Saints.

Devizes Town Youth took a 1-0 lead in the first half at Melksham Park but a superb strike from Sam Robinson ended the game all square at 1-1.

Under Nines Division Three

AFC CORSHAM Leopards roared to a 2-0 victory against Trowbridge Town B, guaranteeing their place as Division Three champions with a game still to play.

The first half saw the Leopards pinned back in their own half until substitutes Callus Martin and Shaun Whale opened up the play and reversed the flow of the game.

Strong play down the centre of the park by Whale and excellent interplay between Jonathan Beazley and Calla Emerson-Hicks led to the first goal which was struck calmly into the back of the net by Martin.

The Leopards held out under Trowbridge attacks long enough for Beazley to supply Emerson-Hick to score his 20th league goal.

Strong defensive play by Ashley Boy and Sam Fuller resulted in a seventh clean sheet of the campaign.

Bradford Town Youth secured runners-up position with a 4-0 win over visitors Castle Combe Colts. Bradford's goals came from Stacey, Sitwell and two own goals.

Josh South scored the only goal of the game two minutes before the end of the first half to give Warminster Highbury B a 1-0 win at Trowbridge Town Youth D.
