Champions-elect drop points

UNDER 16s: Trowbridge Town Youth dropped points for only the second time this season but remain on course for this season's Under 16s Blue Division title after drawing 1-1 with visitors Bradford Town Youth.

Bradford defended well in the first half and took the lead from the penalty spot.

Trowbridge continued to push forward after the break and were rewarded with an equaliser from Tom Mackinder.

Both sides battled on for the winner but the game remained level at the final whistle.

Under 16s Red Division

AMESBURY Juniors won their final game of the season, running out 3-0 winners at home to FC Chippenham to clinch the runners-up position.

Dean Wrixon, Dominic McKay and Tom Dear were on target for Amesbury with all three goals coming in the second half.

Amesbury struggled to break down a packed midfield and defence until Wrixon's speculative long range shot come clearance found the Chippenham keeper off his line and unable to reach the effort.

This sparked the stripes into a bit of life at last and a neat through ball found McKay who sweetly hit home a half volley from inside the box.

Dear neatly headed home for the final goal of the game.

An increasingly animated Sam Dando bossed the defence around so well that the Amesbury goalkeeper did not have an effort to save.

All credit goes to Chippenham as they never gave up and caused Amesbury immense frustration with their dogged defending.

Both sides played the game in excellent spirit leaving referee Ian Wrixon with hardly a decision to make.
