DILTON Marsh under sevens are celebrating after winning the league's Fair
Play award with a flawless record over the season.
While attention may be focused on this weekend's league cup finals, Dilton
are still revelling in the recognition they have received for their attitude
on the pitch.
League secretary Shirley Brigham said: "Usually the winners get 95 but they
got 100 per cent which is amazing. We've been doing this for years and we've
never had 100 per cent."
Mrs Brigham also praised Derek Tinnion, manager of Bromham under 10s and
under 11s.
His teams were Fair Play winners and runners-up respectively and Brigham had
to phone him twice to break the news.
Brigham said: "I ring them up, which I like to do, and when I put the phone
down I thought, Hang on, it's the same bloke'.
