FC Chippenham finish with 100 per cent record

FC Chippenham have won the Under Nines Division One title with a 100 per cent record.

They took the lead inside the first two minutes against Chippenham Town Youth through Marcus Fenton.

Five minutes into the second half Callum Gunner put in a great corner for Tadgh Feerick to head in to make it 2-0. Callum Gunner finished well to make it 3-0 before two late goals from Chippenham Town left the final score at 3-2.

This was the final game of the season for FC Chippenham, leaving them at the top of the table with maximum points after winning all ten games.

Ashton Shanley, Dominic Allen and Matthew Hatter scored for Trowbridge Town Youth A as they ran out 3-0 winners over Westbury Youth Lions in their midtable clash.

Trowbridge Wanderers earned a narrow 1-0 victory in their home game against Warminster Highbury with Iiyaas Hadia scoring for Wanderers.

Under Nines Division Two

LARKHALL Athletic's undefeated record came to an end at Devizes Town Youth.

Devizes dominated play, taking a 1-0 lead at the break before going on to finish 4-0 winners.

Jacob Stonar scored a hat-trick and Samuel Dodds added a single.

Under Nines Division Three

A TERRIFIC finale to the Division Three games was played out between leaders AFC Corsham Leopards and second placed Bradford Town Youth A.

Bradford attacked from the off and they took the lead when Laurence Maddox slotted home after a lovely move worked move down the right.

In the second half Emerson-Hicks pulled one back with Corsham responding to quickly to a goal by Bradford's Alex Holmes.

After Bradford's Maddox smashed the ball against the post Corsham were awarded a penalty which was confidently put away by Jonathan Bazley.

The 2-2 draw left Bradford feeling they should have had more from this match.

Under Nines Division Four

TROWBRIDGE Town Youth C and Mere FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Ciaran Taylor scored for Trowbridge.

Under Nines Division Six

IN this final match of the season between Westbury Youth and Chippenham Town Youth, the winners were certain to take the Division Six title.

Both teams provided the large excitable crowd with a festival of superlative football.

Westbury exploded into action and took early control of the game and looked to be set to win comfortably but resilient defending from Chippenham kept them in the game.

Several chances were created by both teams and the style and passion of the game was befitting for these two excellent teams.

It was Chippenham who seized the early initiative and a wonder goal by Daniel Carter, an unstoppable free kick from 25 yards, gave them the lead.

This ignited the game into a frenzy of action as Westbury pressed for an equaliser and it came thanks to a superlative finish from the impressive Jacob Humphrey.

The humid temperatures did not overly deter the continued passion and free flowing football by both teams as they both looked to cross the finish line first.

That honour came for Westbury as Alex Brimble scored the crucial goal.

Chippenham pressed hard in the final five minutes but solid defending and fine goalkeeping ensured a 2-1 Westbury win, which crowns them champions.

The game was a fantastic advert for under nines football and both teams finished the season on a high, providing coaches, parents and supporters weeks of high drama, joy and excitement.

All the players left the field, heartily congratulating each other with big smiles on their faces.
