Retired dinner lady Margaret Gingell has died in her sleep at the age of 82.
Mrs Gingell (nee Robinson) was born in Calne in Back Road in 1931 and lived there all her life.
She worked as a dinner lady at St Mary’s Girls School in Calne and was also a member of the Royal Navy Association in the town.
She married Brian Gingell, also from Calne, and the couple had a daughter, Debra, who died in 2008 at the age of 52.
Mrs Gingell had two grandchildren, Scott and Kirsten, and she spent a great deal of time with her six great-grandchildren, who all loved her roast dinners.
She was a keen gardener and continued to tend to her flowerbeds and talk to her flowers until she died.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Calne on Thursday, November 27 at 11am.
Donations, if desired, to Cancer Research UK.
