NEW mum Chloe Hudd paid tribute to her mum and sister, who were her birthing partners during her pregnancy, after giving birth to her son Jackson at Trowbridge Birthing Centre.

The 18-year-old, who lives in Paxcroft Way, Trowbridge, had a tough pregnancy and was hospitalised twice with bad sickness, which almost resulted in her spending Christmas at Salisbury District Hospital.

Miss Hudd said she was grateful for the support of her mum Tracey Hulbert and sister Sophie Day, as well as thanking the midwives at the birthing centre in Trowbridge.

She said: “I was hospitalised twice during my pregnancy as I had really bad sickness and it didn’t stop until after 20 weeks. I almost missed Christmas as I was in Salisbury District Hospital on a drip.

“It got better eventually and the birth itself went really fast, although Jackson arrived a few days after his due date. My mum and sister were my birthing partners and they were fantastic throughout.

“The nurses were also great and they were amazingly supportive throughout my pregnancy. I couldn’t have done it without the help of them and my family.”

Miss Hudd, who has previously worked as a volunteer at Palmer Gardens, decided on the name of her newborn after finding out she would be having a boy when she had a scan at 18 weeks.

She added: “I found out what I was having at 18 weeks and I had the name Jackson in mind after I had heard someone else use the name. It stuck straight away and I really liked it. The middle names Andrew and Charles are from my father and grandfather.

“My whole family have been so supportive, especially when I suffered sickness during my pregnancy. Jackson has been perfect so far and he does not make much fuss at all, as he is a very relaxed baby.”
