BIRTH: Baby Abigail

PROUD grandmother Janet Maslen has two reasons to celebrate after both her daughters gave birth in the same week and were in adjoining beds in the maternity unit.

Just a day after her sister Hannah Bolwell, 31, gave birth to baby Logan, Kimberly Maslen celebrated the birth of Abigail, at 10.52am on September 23, at Trowbridge Hospital's maternity unit.

After four hours in labour, Miss Maslen was transferred to the main ward where she was placed next to her sister.

Miss Maslen said: "It was strange but really nice because there's someone there that you know. She was quite busy with her child though.

"We have become closer over the last nine months."

Abigail was born six days early while Logan was a late arrival.

Miss Maslen said: "She is called Abigail because that is what I was supposed to be called when I was born.

"The labour wasn't as long as I thought it would be, because I was at home for most of the contractions."

Abigail's parents have yet to decide which of their surnames she will take.
