As its name suggests The Farmhouse Inn on Frome Road used to be a dairy farm, then known as Southwick Farm.
When it was auctioned in June 1951, when this picture was taken, it was described as a highly desirable freehold farm with 148 acres of rich dairying pasture and arable land.
It stayed a farm until it was converted into a pub in 1980, when the front lawns were turned into the car park.
