At one time Southwick and neighbouring North Bradley were one parish: in 1867 there was a baker, a smith, a tailor, a grocer and draper and two stonemasons, which by 1890 had become two shops, a blacksmith, a threshing machine proprietor and a road contractor.
By 1927 there was only one shop, but there was also Southwick garage, a post office and a telephone call office. Our picture show the post office around 1911 when Rhoda Kite was the postmistress. The current shop is next to what was the Post Office 100 years ago.
