OBITUARY: Mr Graham Primmer
FORMER Westbury St John Ambulance stalwart Graham Primmer, who moved to Wales in 1988, has died, aged 64.
Born in Westbury, he joined the Brigade as a junior, going on to serve for 50 years with the charity.
It was through St John Ambulance in Westbury that he met his wife Hillarie, whom he married in 1976.
The couple had been due to fly out to South Africa for their daughter Emma's wedding, but Mr Primmer, who had been ill for some time, was unable to go because of his health and his daughter flew home to spend time with him before he died.
Mr Primmer moved with his family to Llandrindod Wells in 1988 where he held the posts of St John County Badger Leader, County Cadet Leader and Regional Cadet Officer.
He also served as town crier from 1998-2004. He leaves his wife, daughter, mother and sister Susan Wiffen, who still lives in west Wiltshire.
A service in his memory is being held in Wales today.
